Patterns of the Wheel Contests and Giveaways

The article below was taken directly from Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time google+ page.  It is the official google+ for Team Jordan

The compelling images, symbols, and languages of the Wheel of Time will be coming to life on the printed page this month. Patterns of the Wheel: Coloring Art Based on Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time, illustrated by Amy Romanczuk (a licensed Wheel of Time artist), is being released on October 25 by Tor Books. Amy previously published a smaller version of this coloring book, which was well-received at JordanCon this year. The Tor edition has a total of 40 hand-drawn images, twice the number of the earlier book.

Amy is a folk artist known for her work with Ukrainian pysanky, a type of egg art that employs a wax-and-dye resist process. This art form uses complex geometric patterns to form symbols that have specific meanings. She transferred this ancient 3D art into a 2D format to bring images from the Wheel of Time to adults, children, and Trollocs with eating disorders who cannot get enough of the series and coloring books.

The drawings are reproduced on substantial paper stock, suitable for framing. You can read more about Patterns and the type of art used to make the book at the Tor website:

Those who like freebies!!! have a number of opportunities. Pre-orders of the book placed through Ta’veren Tees will receive a free limited edition pencil case set with each book ordered, until supplies of the pencils run out.

At the same time, there is a contest underway that can be combined with your pre-orders from Ta’veren Tees (or Dragonmount or any bookseller of your choice): Tweet, post on FaceBook or Instagram, or message a screenshot/proof of purchase of your preorder to Amy (bookczuk) to be entered into the contest (#PatternsoftheWheelContest). Ten lucky winners will get one of the limited edition pencil cases. There is also a Grand Prize: a personalized, hand-drawn signature plate, a copy of the original coloring book that started it all, and other Wheel of Time coloring goodies. For an extra chance at winning, tag, share, retweet, regard, or pass along this offer to others. This contest closes at midnight on October 25. More at

For those who participate in GoodReads, between now and October 25, the site will be giving free copies of the book to ten people selected at random from a list of people who request the book (available in the US and Canada). If interested, you can enter the giveaway at their website:

And if you act quickly BookwormBlues is giving away a copy at All you have to do is enter a comment to be considered. This drawing ends Saturday, October 15 at midnight Mountain Time.
